The Indoni Academy was invited to choreograph and perform a special dance work for a Gynaecology Endoscopy Conference: Bringing equilibrium between health services in Africa and the World; this was to be held on 15 April 2019 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
While looking for costumes for the commissioned work, I contacted Tricia De Canha at PrionTex who was very helpful. We took the whole dance group there to fit on doctors’ gowns and they kindly allowed us to borrow the garments for rehearsals and the performance. Artistic Director Sbonakaliso Ndaba choreographed a masterpiece and the doctor delegates were stunned.

The Indoni Dance, Arts and Leadership Academy provides professional training in the performing arts for under-resourced, talented youth. We provide both classroom-based and on-the-job training including performances and teaching. We place great emphasis on life skills and leadership, while developing and celebrating a uniquely South African aesthetic. Our aim is to take care of those without prospects for building their potential to the highest degree in the arts. Over the past 5 years we have performed to over 65,000 people and have won 8 awards.
We are very grateful to PrionTex for their assistance. Thank you for your generosity.
